Ingrid Ung is a visual artist living and working between London(UK) - Helsinki/Turku(Finland) - Berlin/Leipzig(Germany). She did a MA in Fine Arts in Chelsea College of Art and Design in London UK 2000. Since graduation she has been working as an artist and freelance producer. Her works have been shown in art museums,galleries and project spaces and festivals all over the world. Her audience is wider than usual in the art world and reaches far beyond her native country Finland.
In recent times with art pieces reduced only to commodities her works have contributed to tolerance and discussion and made an concrete impact in society and in the lives of people and given them hope. She is involved in new ecological movements and holistic groups trying to make a difference especially during recent years crisis in Europe through art.
Eventough she has been through a lot of challenges as depicted in her semi biographic video art works, she has been able to transgress the wounds, integrate them in her process of creative work and turn it into inspiring, positive uplifting art works which goes beyond a lot of remain in catarcic pieces you see in the art world of today.
She is not afraid of walking her own way .. either in life or art and she will continue make groundbreaking art works that expand the art scene and have something meaningful to convey to the public.
